Searching and Adding a New Student
Adding a new student is done in Students within the My Account section. Before adding a new student, do a search in Students to see if the student has already been created.
How to Search for a Student:
- Navigate to Students under the My Account menu.
- Select the Add Student button.
- Select Add an Existing Student and Continue.
- Type the student's name into the Add Student search box and select Search. Alternatively, select the Show All Available Students toggle to see a list of all students that are available.
- Pro Tip: Try searching by student ID and nicknames.
- If the searched student is available to add, select the green plus to add the student to your classroom.
If the student is not listed as available to add, and is currently in a classroom you will need to reach out to your Administrator to resolve. Creating duplicate students will prevent your ability to collect and record clean data.
How to Create a New Student:
- Navigate to Students under the My Account menu.
- Select the Add Student button.
- Select Create New Student and Continue.
- Complete the fields under Create New Student and select Create Student.
- After creating the student, you will want to complete the following in order to customize their experience in all of their seated applications:
- Complete Student Profile (applicable to Unique Learning System only)
- Configure Student Login, Accessibility Settings and Solution Settings.
Dropping a Student
If you wish to transfer student data within your subscription, you will first need to drop the student to move the student to the dropped student list. When a student is moved into the dropped student list, they can then be added to another classroom.
How to Drop a Student:
- Navigate to Students under the My Account menu.
- Select the desired student.
- Select the Drop Student button.
- Select Drop to confirm.
This will place the student in the list of Available Students for another service provider in the subscription to pick up and add to their roster. All history and student data remains with the student by performing these steps.
If a student has been dropped, they can be added to a classroom by searching for the available students in the above steps.
Seating a Student
Students must be seated in an application in order to have access via Student View. Students can be seated by selecting the desired applications via the creation process, or at anytime via the Student Applications button in Students.
Seat a student by following these steps:
- Navigate to Students under the My Account menu.
- Select Classroom Settings > Student Access.
- Locate the desired student.
- Select the checkbox for each application you want to grant access to.
Please note that one license allows for 15 seats in Unique Learning System, Positivity, News2you, SymbolStix PRIME and L3 Skills. Your Subscription Manager can purchase additional licenses if you need to seat more than 15 students.
